Barbara Aubry, RN, CCM, CPC, CLNC, DABQAURP is a registered nurse, certified case manager, certified professional coder and Diplomate of the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians with 20 years experience in the health care industry. Currently, she manages the Utilization Management Department for Independent Health, an HMO in New York. She is the author of multiple patient and provider, marketing, educational and newsletter communications for disease management programs in conjunction with major pharmaceutical companies and managed care providers including diabetes, asthma, depression, osteoporosis and women’s and health issues. Additional experience includes utilization, risk, coding (CPC, ICD-9), compliance review, and provider education, as well as multi-discipline case management. A patient and physician advocate dedicated to assisting in the navigation of the managed care labyrinth, she is also an amateur cook and has published recipes in Bon Appetit and Too Busy to Cook.
